Ana Navarro claims DeSantis “played the system” and won against a “political corpse.”

CNN political commentator Ana Navarro on Wednesday accused Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of playing the system that led to his overwhelming victory on election night.

“I was dying to talk about Florida and I think it’s been completely misunderstood. I think the narrative is completely wrong,” she said.

“I told you he was going to win big, but listen, Ron DeSantis narrowly won in 2018 by just under 35,000 votes against a black, progressive, little-known mayor from Tallahassee, Fla.,” Navarro continued. “Yesterday he won by 20 percent, why? Because he tricked the system.”

She suggested that DeSantis somehow enacted several policies to create an “uneven playing field” in his party’s favor.

CNN political commentator Ana Navarro criticized both Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his Democratic opposition in a panel on Wednesday.

“Because he turned Florida into an uneven playing field. They changed the electoral laws, making it harder to vote by mail. They paraded a group of people — black people they arrested for voter fraud and paraded them before the national media,” she said. “He created an electoral police force. He was also very good at responding to hurricanes and other tragedies… he’s also invested in Miami-Dade and focused on that with Laser.”

Navarro explained that in addition to DeSantis using this tactic, less of the general population actually voted.

“Voter turnout was 10 points lower than in 2018 and in 2018 it was 63%. Yesterday in Florida it was 53%. So this is not a red wave. Red Wave is when people take to the streets and vote. If you have what, you had the depressed, deflated Democratic voice,” she said

Navarro also criticized DeSantis Democratic opponent Charlie Crist for failing to rally the Democratic base.

“Who can blame you if you nominate a corpse? I mean yes, [DeSantis] won big, but he won against a corpse, a political corpse, and that’s an insult to corpses,” she said.

Before the election, Navarro called Crist a “recycled dropout”.

“I think tonight Ron DeSantis is going to come out of there without the help of Donald Trump, victorious, you know, conquerors and in much larger numbers,” she said in a previous panel. “Honestly, because the Democrats ran a recycled rabbit who was a Republican, an independent, and is now a Democrat.”
