Arkema announces the planned sale of Febex, a company specializing in phosphorus-based chemistry, to the Belgian group Prayon. Arkema continues its dynamic business portfolio management.
Febex is a global supplier of phosphorus derivatives (high purity phosphoric acid, sodium hypophosphite and derivatives) mainly used in electronics and pharmaceutical industries. As part of the Performance Additives business and with little integration with the group’s other activities, Febex reported sales of around €30 million in 2021, employs 59 people and operates 1 site in Switzerland.
By joining Prayon, an industrial group specializing in phosphorus chemistry, the Febex teams will benefit from the Belgian group’s growth ambitions in this area.
This project, which is expected to start on 01.01St Quarter 2023, subject to the information and prior consultation process with the employee representatives in France and the approval of the competent Swiss authorities.
