The Higher to Play is showing in NJ and NY this week

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) — the higher one, a band known for mixing and blurring the genre boundaries of pop-punk, R&B and dance-pop, will perform at The Saint in Asbury Park on Friday 18th November and at the Brooklyn Monarch performing. Both shows also include Little Hag, Ghost Club and Bad Luck.

The long awaited real EP from The Higher Elvis in Wonderland can be streamed worldwide via Secret Friends Music Group. Considered an ode to the band’s roots in their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elvis In Wonderland picks up where the band left off since their studio release It’s Only Natural on Epitaph Records in 2009.

Produced by Mike Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, As It Is, Bayside, Anthony Green), the pop-rock project consists of five catchy tracks written and recorded entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic. “free ride‘, the lead single from the Elvis In Wonderland EP, discusses lyrical themes of deceit and manipulation over fresh pop-punk riffs, coupled with a music video that literally takes viewers on a free ride down the Vegas Strip. The title track “Elvis in Wonderland‘ follows the opening story established in ‘Free Ride’ with our Elvis impersonator wishing to escape reality against a backdrop of fast-paced guitar melodies and heart-pounding drums in Sin City.

The recently released track “Are We High?” came out with one supporting visualizer, is a clear contrast to the band’s recent single releases. “Are we high?” is a dreamy ballad that touches on the feeling of falling in love with someone for the first time.

Overall the Elvis in Wonderland EP has a consistent sound and concept that will surely please longtime fans of The Higher and will serve as a great introduction for new listeners.

“It was really an affair of the heart. Between COVID and juggling schedules, it’s pretty amazing that we’ve made it. Luckily we’ve worked with some great people. Mike Pepe and Rafa Alverez were great in getting this EP to the finish. Super talented guys. Reggie and I are grateful to Tom and Jay for their help throughout the writing process. When the four of us get together, good things happen and it’s no different with Elvis.” – Seth Trotter, lead singer of The Higher
