SAN FRANCISCO, November 3, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Cabify, the international multi-mobility platform, has partnered with Incode Technologies, the next-generation identity verification and authentication platform for global enterprises, to integrate new developments into its passenger identity verification system. As part of this strategic partnership announced today, Incode’s biometrics and digital identity technology will be integrated into Cabify, allowing passengers to validate their identity through a selfie that instantly confirms the match between the photo and official documentation.

The well-being of Cabify’s driver partners and prevention of safety incidents are priorities for Cabify. This new alliance deepens the company’s commitment, which relies on technologies based on artificial intelligence and machine learning processes to detect suspicious user behavior and prevent incidents that affect driver safety. Both Incode and Cabify have applied the most innovative solutions on the market to this project, offering users a native and intuitive experience without leaving the Cabify app at any time.

This new solution reinforces the set of deployed safety features that, according to the drivers and taxi drivers collaborating, have made Cabify a benchmark app for safe travel. In a recent Cabify survey of drivers who tested it, passenger identity verification is the safety tool most valued by Cabify’s partner drivers, followed by others like Secret Signal, a feature that enables real-time safety check logs to prevent any wrongdoing by passengers. In fact, more than 91% of drivers participating in this analysis dropped this identity check with a 10 or 9.

Corresponding Carlo HerreraCTO at Cabify, “This collaboration with Incode reaffirms our commitment to providing a safe experience for both passengers and drivers. We want drivers who choose Cabify to feel safe. It is they who make it possible to transport thousands of passengers through the cities every week. Listening and caring about the people behind the wheel is crucial for us. That’s why we’re integrating more and more technology to reduce the risk of insecurity in cities. Verifying the identity of our passengers is the most valuable tool for our collaborating drivers and taxi drivers, which is why we continue to empower them with an industry leader like Incode.”

Ricardo AmpersCEO of Incode Technologies, added: “Cabify has created a platform that brings together world-leading technologies to transform inner-city mobility while optimizing both user experience and safety. This makes it a really exciting partnership for us, and we’re looking forward to working with Cabify as they continue to improve the way we travel.”

More than a decade of innovation in security features

This new technological development is part of Cabify’s strategic roadmap to strengthen its commitment to improving urban mobility and draws on the extensive experience gained in enabling features and services that enhance the well-being and experience of its cooperating drivers and promote passengers.

In the last five years, Cabify has almost invested $40M in R&D&I in different functionalities and services that adapt to the different needs of users and the planet. In addition to the functionalities visible in the application, Cabify has more than 20 processes and tools focused on ensuring the security of its users. These include driver user document validation, user privacy, regular vehicle checks, accident insurance and a 24/7 support center available via app, web and social media.

By implementing some functionalities, the safety for drivers and users could be significantly increased. The success of the performance of safety developments such as the emergency call button for collaborating drivers (contact authorities, Cabify and location sharing) and artificial intelligence-assisted chat monitoring implemented in 2020 was evidenced by the 89.5 percent reduction in harassing messages from passengers to collaborating drivers.
