CBS Sports predicts serious changes in AP Top 25 poll after upset Week 12

Week 12 brought a lot of upsets and many tight ends in college football. Many ranked teams weathered fears of surprise, while seven AP ranked teams lost over the weekend. After all the chaos, CBS Sports has predicted what the AP Top 25 rankings will look like when they are announced later on Sunday.

The College Football Playoff rankings were almost badly hit on Saturday. Each of the top four teams – No. 1 GeorgiaNo. 2 State of Ohio#3 Michigan and #4 TCU – played in games that were almost to the point. defeated Georgia Kentucky 16-6 while Ohio State batted Maryland 43-30. Michigan kicked a field goal in the final seconds to defeat Illinoisand TCU did the same against Baylor.

While the top 4 may have weathered the commotion, that can’t be said of many teams below them. #5 Tennessee was blown out in his game at South Carolina, probably knocking the Vols out of the CFP race. #14 Ole Fraulein resisted vigorously Arkansas, and the Razorbacks pulled out a 42-27 angry victory. #13 North Carolina also had a very disappointing loss as the Tar Heels’ offense looked like a pedestrian for the first time in a while in the 21-17 loss georgia tech. #17 UCF also lost marineand No. 24 State of Oklahoma fell against Oklahoma.

The weekend also featured a couple of ranked matchups, both in the form of crucial Pac-12 games. #7 U.S.C firmly established himself as a CFP contender, finishing 16th UCLA, 48-45. #12 Oregon also defeated No. 10 Utah20-17

Overall, the AP ranked teams went down 17-7 in Week 12. Those seven losses were big losses and we were only a few games away from having a few more. The post-season picture remains choppy at the top and sets for an exciting final week of the regular season.

CBS Sports predicts Texas will climb back up to No. 24 in the AP Top 25 rankings this week, taking the place of Oklahoma State (previously No. 24).
