Conservatives question reports of ‘nooses’ found at Obama library construction site

Conservatives took to social media with skepticism after construction of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago was temporarily halted after a noose was reportedly found on the site.

“Definitely a hate crime,” conservative commentator Matt Walsh tweeted sarcastically in response to a New York Post report that construction of the former president’s library was halted after a noose was allegedly found.

“I can’t think of any other reason why a rope should be on a construction site. Besides, this is Chicago. It’s not a place known for hate crimes.” added Walsh.

Walsh’s reference to the infamous Chicago hate crime scam involving Empire actor Jussie Smollet, who claimed he was attacked in the middle of a snowstorm by two Trump supporters in 2019 before finally being convicted of staging a hate crime.
