November’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths program at the Greater Waco YMCA, 6800 Harvey Drive will focus on slime of all types, including magnetic, glow-in-the-dark and more.

Music program for children

The Bledsoe-Miller Community Center, 300 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., is hosting a new 12-week music program for children ages 4-6 presented by Centex Music.

“First Steps in Music: For Preschool and Beyond” begins November 2nd. Classes are Wednesday through February 7th from 10am to 11am. Parents are welcome to stay for classes or bring their children over. The cost is $150 per child.

Library book sales

The Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library book sale will be held Thursday through Sunday at the base at the Extraco Events Center, 4601 Bosque Blvd.

Admission is $10 for Thursdays when the sale is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m

Admission is free for the remainder of the sale. The opening hours are Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There’s a $10 fill-a-bag special on Sunday. Moonlight Madness from 7-9 p.m. Sunday is $10, and attendees can pick up any books they can.

MCC registration open

McLennan Community College fall semester and spring semester registration opens Monday at 7 a.m.

Students planning to take classes during the minimester should register by 2pm on December 13th. Classes will take place from December 13th to 28th.

Registration for the spring semester closes at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th and classes begin on January 9th.
