FTI Consulting launches technology segment in Switzerland and appoints Senior Managing Director as Country Lead

New office supports expansion in the DACH region

London, November 8, 2022 – FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the launch of its technology segment in Switzerland, marking the company’s formal presence in the country. The launch includes the appointment of investigative expert Jerry Lay as senior managing director and head of the Switzerland segment. Mr. Lay will work closely with technology segment leaders to drive growth in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, also known as the DACH region, as well as in broader Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa to serve clients in these markets to support.

Switzerland serves as a gateway for international and EU business with advanced technology, finance, renewable energy, biotechnology and consumer goods industries, the presence of major international organizations including the UN Bank for International Settlements, and one of the most influential arbitral tribunals in the world. As a highly regulated country with a competitive economy, multinational companies doing business in Switzerland require strong support and programs in information governance, privacy, compliance, disputes and investigations, and other critical risk areas.

Mr. Lay is an expert in investigating and applying technology solutions to provide insights into matters involving complex data challenges. He brings more than 15 years of experience conducting extensive research and advising clients on improving compliance frameworks and functions. Mr. Lay has led numerous high-profile investigations involving allegations of fraud and corruption, misappropriation of assets, conflicts of interest, market manipulation and data theft. He has worked with clients across a range of industries including pharma and life sciences, financial services and industrial products and has extensive experience working in emerging markets.

Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Lay held a senior litigation and investigation role at Alvarez & Marsal in Zurich. He has also held digital forensics and investigative positions at a Big Four company and served as Global Chief Financial Officer of a pharmaceutical group headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, where he led the internal service functions, including financial accounting and reporting, Controlling, Compliance, Human Resources and Information Technology.
