CHANDLER, AZ – Gila River Resorts & Casinos (GRRC) announced the hire of Anastasia “AP” Palmer Johnson as Corporate Director of Entertainment.

The veteran sports and entertainment manager was tasked with developing a robust concert and events calendar for the rapidly expanding gaming company. Johnson will oversee the venue portfolio at all three locations, including Vee Quiva, Lone Butte and the flagship Wildhorse Pass, as well as the soon-to-open fourth location, Santan Mountain.

“With their connections, drive and dedication, we are honored to see AP enhance our entertainment offering,” said Dominic Orozco, President and Chief Marketing Officer at Gila River Resorts & Casinos. “Hiring someone like AP was the next natural step in growing our newly named resort brand. In her short tenure with the company, we’re already seeing her spawn big acts like Jake Paul, T-Pain and Rick Ross.”

Prior to joining GRRC, Johnson was Regional Director of Event Sales for Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company. In a newly developed role within Live Nation’s US concert division, Johnson was responsible for sales of private and special events for amphitheaters on waterfronts from Seattle to Miami, specializing in multi-venue conventions and corporate contracts.

From 2014 to 2019, Johnson served as Senior Director of Booking and Partnerships for the legendary Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena, where she booked events such as Goldenvoices’ FYF and Camp Flog Gnaw festivals, Special Olympics and a variety of sporting events and concerts.

Prior to his tenure at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Johnson spent 13 years generating revenue, providing customer service, and dynamic catering experiences as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Levy Restaurants at STAPLES Center, Microsoft Theater, Dodger Stadium, Dignity Health Park, and the center at Cathedral Plaza. She has managed event services for events including two NFL Super Bowls, MLB and NBA All-Star Games, NHL Stanley Cup events, GRAMMY Awards, Emmys and countless concerts and music festivals.

“It is a true privilege to be able to bring exciting live music experiences to the stages of Arizona,” said Johnson. “I’m excited to introduce my longtime promoter friends to a whole new audience in Los Angeles.”
