Heisley Park Senior Apartments open in Painesville – News-Herald

Opened November 2nd, Heisley Park Senior Apartments offers apartments in Painesville for those 55 and older.

Representatives from the City of Painesville and the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce gathered on November 3 to celebrate the grand opening of the new facility at 1386 Elizabeth Blvd.

City Manager Doug Lewis thanked the Clover Group, saying, “We have a lot of people in the community who are reaching their old age … who want to stay in the community but really have nowhere to go.”

He added: “This gives them an opportunity to stay.”

The 119 apartments are designed for seniors who can live alone, said project manager Kelley Getz. Three of the apartments are designed to provide accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to Getz, the facility’s recreational facilities include a common room that can be used for events such as movie nights and games. A game room offers activities like shuffleboard and a chess table, while a coffee bar offers space to socialize and prepare future drinks like coffee and espresso. A family room offers more space for residents to visit their loved ones.

Residents are responsible for their medical precautions, he added. Each unit is equipped with a pull cord that allows them to call emergency services and the facility is designed to allow access for first responders.

Getz noted that the facility will have a full-time house manager and maintenance worker.

According to the facility’s website, other amenities will include an on-site salon and barber shop, as well as a fitness center. Water, heating, electricity, garbage disposal, and cable TV are included in the rent, which starts at $1,334 per month for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo.

Getz noted that as of Nov. 3, around six tenants had moved in and 40 percent of the facility’s apartments were pre-let.
