CORONADO, Calif. (AP) — Drew Timme had 22 points and 13 rebounds and led No. 2 Gonzaga in a spirited comeback from a 12-point deficit that took the Bulldogs to a 64-63 victory over Michigan State on the flight deck commanded the USS Abraham Lincoln at the North Island Naval Air Station. Timme hit an inside shot with 2:24 left for a 63-61 lead, Gonzaga’s first shot since the game began. The Zags scored just one more point when Timme took the second of two free throws with 1:51 left. Gonzaga’s Julian Strawther was called to travel with 31 seconds remaining, and Michigan State’s Jaden Akins missed a desperate 3-pointer on the buzzer.

DETROIT (AP) — Emoni Bates showed flashes of his promise, but his career-best 30 points wasn’t enough to help Eastern Michigan defeat No. 22 Michigan. The Wolverines defeated the Eagles 88-83 on Friday night. Hunter Dickinson finished with 31 points for Michigan. The Wolverines took a 2:49 lead on Jaelin Llewellyn’s layup in the game with 17 lead changes and 11 ties. Leading 45-40 at halftime, the Eagles had an eight-point lead early in the second half, but ended up losing a 22nd straight game to a ranked opponent.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Zach Edey posted a career-high 30 points in 12-for-13 shooting and had 11 rebounds, and Purdue led across the board in a 63-44 win over Austin Peay. For his part, Austin Peay’s 6-11 bigman Elijah Hutchins-Everett scored 19 points with seven rebounds for the Governors. Edey’s dunk at 5:27 before halftime made it 23-12 and the Boilermakers led by double digits for the rest of the game.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Dain Dainja scored 20 points and tugged 15 rebounds to lead No. 23 Illinois to an 86-48 win over Kansas City. Terrence Shannon Jr. added 14 points and five assists for the Illini. Shemarri Allen led Kansas City with 20 points and eight rebounds on 9 of 19 shots. Shannon opened the scoring with a vicious dunk, but Illinois fell early 9-5 as they missed 17 of their first 18 shots. The Roos missed 10 of their last 11 shots of the first half and shot 31.3% for the night.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Tyler Wahl scored 17 points as Wisconsin beat Stanford 60-50 Friday at American Family Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers. Jordan Davis had a career-high 12 points and Chucky Hepburn added 11 to help Wisconsin (2-0) win the first college basketball game at an all-baseball facility since a matchup between San Diego and San Diego State in 2015 Win Petco Park. Brandon Angel scored 14 points to lead Stanford. Stanford shot just 1 of 16 from 3-point range.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Aliyah Boston had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Zia Cooke added 18 points to lead No. 1 South Carolina to an 81-56 win over No. 17 Maryland. Boston led their team to a fairly routine win in their first real Test of the season. The defending champions held off a dismal Maryland team playing without their own potential lottery pick. Diamond Miller was out with a knee injury. Abby Meyers scored 21 points to lead Maryland.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Emily Kiser scored 25 points, Laila Phelia added 21 points and No. 25 Michigan beat St. Francis (Pa.) 91-36. Michigan scored the first 12 points of the game and led 49-12 at halftime after forcing 20 turnovers and keeping St. Francis on 5 of 21 shots. The Wolverines finished the game with 19 steals and helped accumulate 46 points from turnovers. Cameron Williams had 12 points and eight rebounds for Michigan, who host Western Michigan on Wednesday. St. Francis was held to 32.4% shooting. Adison Novosel had a team-high nine points. Former Michigan star Naz Hillmon sat on the sidelines.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Allison Weidner scored 20 points and No. 22 Nebraska cruised to a 79-48 win over Houston Christian. The Cornhuskers (2-0) steadily pulled away, leading 35-18 at the half as three players had six points and two more had five. Weidner had 14 points in the second half as Nebraska shot 52%. The Cornhuskers also turned 22 turnovers into 32 points thanks to 14 steals. Jaz Shelley added 11 points with eight assists and five steals. D’Denasija Collins had 14 points for Houston Christian (1-1). Marilyn Nzoiwu had 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Cornhuskers play Tuesday at the No. 21 Creighton.
