Intrepid Museum Presents “How New Technologies Are Driving Exploration of the Moon, Mars and Beyond”

Intrepid Museum Presents

The Intrepid Museum is presenting a FREE live virtual astronomy program on Sunday, November 20th from 3pm-5pm ET. At this event, attendees will hear NASA scientists and engineers discuss emerging space exploration technologies and how the innovations are making exploration of the Moon, Mars and beyond more achievable.

NASA’s Technology Demonstration Missions (TDM) work to solve scientific and engineering challenges and create the technological innovations needed to meet them. After rigorous testing, these advances are transformed into low-cost, revolutionary new technologies and deployed on NASA, government, and commercial space missions.

Trudy Kortes, Program Director of Technology Demonstrations for Space Technology Mission Directorate, and Tawnya Laughinghouse, Program Manager for Technology Demonstration Missions, will discuss these newly tested technologies and how they will enable future NASA missions to pursue bolder goals, make manned missions safer and more rewarding and enable a new expansion of the space industry in the government and commercial sectors.

The event will be hosted and moderated by John “Das” Galloway, founder of Kerbal Space Academy, and moderated by Elysia Segal, Producer of Public Programs at the Intrepid Museum and Ambassador of NASA’s Solar System.
