Soroptimist International

Live Your Dream Awards: Attention Women Supporting Families Aiming for Higher Education! Soroptimist clubs in this area have several awards starting at $1000 to help you earn your degree or certificate of education. League of Voters

The League of Women Voters of Mendocino County will hold their November meeting on Tuesday, November 15 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place via Zoom; You can find the link on the league’s website under the “Calendar” tab. The program will focus on water issues, with the presentation and discussion led by Geri Moriskey of the Grass Roots Institute, who will highlight what is already being done on the ground and areas where citizens can get involved. Fort Bragg Garden Club

All are invited to attend the next Fort Bragg Garden Club meeting on Monday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m. Andrea Davis of Wild Rose Ecodesign will zoom in from Ukiah to share her knowledge of the best native plants for coastal gardens. The meeting will take place at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden Educational Center, also known as the Farm House. You can also join the meeting via Zoom by emailing the link to [email protected]

Second chance

On Friday, November 4th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, volunteers will be at the Fort Bragg Food Bank (910 N. Franklin St.) providing free flea/tick repellent for low-income people’s dogs. You don’t have to take your dog to the food bank so you can pick up the repellent quickly and travel safely. Information on free puppy injections AND spay/neuter will be available, as well as free glucosamine pills, leashes, collars etc. This is a Second Chance project, Helping the Pets of People in Need. Fort Bragg Food Bank

The Fort Bragg Food Bank is in need of brown paper bags and is looking for volunteers during our curbside distribution, Monday-Friday 11am-4pm and Wednesday 11am-5:30pm. www.fortbraggfoodbank.org. Brown paper bags can be taken to 910 N Franklin on the curb line or yard stand, or dropped off at one of the many blue keg bins at Purity, Harvest and Savings Bank of Mendocino in Fort Bragg.
