MPU Hosts “2022 Tourism and Entertainment Technology Innovation Conference”

MACAU, Oct. 24 — The 2022 Annual Tourism and Entertainment Technology Innovation Conference organized by MPU was held at Macau Polytechnic University on October 19. Sixteen units of integrated tourism, leisure and entertainment enterprises, game equipment technology companies and technology network associations were invited to contribute their advanced ideas to the development of tourism and entertainment technology innovations. The contents of the conference comprised three aspects: “Building a City of Smart Tourism & Entertainment”, “Latest Developments of Gaming Technology Industry” and “Virtual Reality – The New Trend of Travel Experience”. The conference attracted more than 150 participants from companies and universities.

At the opening ceremony, MPU Rector Professor Im Sio Kei stated that developing Macau into a world center for tourism and leisure is the city’s development orientation. The introduction of various forms of technological innovation will help transform and promote Macao’s tourism and leisure industry, create a new tourism experience, optimize software and hardware services, and improve the competitiveness of the city’s integrated tourism. Macao strives to promote the city’s moderate economic diversification and contribute to the development of the international science and innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to blend in with national development. Macao Polytechnic University is dedicated to working with SAR government departments and industry to improve Macao’s tourism competitiveness and sustainable development, and transform the city into “glamorous Macao”, a world center of tourism and leisure with tourist entertainment and technological innovation.
