Ile states that this is the only shop for periods in the country. “Everyone loves the place and they can talk about anything” as they come in and discuss any topic related to women’s and girls’ bodies. Topics that were once hushed up or considered taboo to discuss openly are now at the heart of the store’s existence. The store has become a safe place to expand knowledge and network with others.

Ile’s offers a wide range of eco-conscious, eco-friendly products made by companies that are all owned by women. Many favorite items include menstrual cups, organic cotton period panties, sanitary pads, vulva balms, first bras, postpartum and perimenopausal products, as well as a wide range of books, candles and gifts for people of all ages.

As stated on Ms. Moxie’s house side: “We have made it our mission to destigmatize menstruation and menopause and remove taboos. We believe it is no longer acceptable for women and girls to feel shame, intimidation and embarrassment when purchasing feminine hygiene products. We strive to provide you with an educational, fun and personalized shopping experience. We want to raise awareness that period poverty exists in our society and we are committed to donating to those in need.”
