Roseville police arrest a murder suspect and reverse the confinement order

The city of Roseville lifted a confinement order Tuesday after arresting a murder suspect, according to social media posts by city officials.

Roseville residents were initially asked to take shelter at the scene as police searched for a murder suspect Tuesday morning.

A crew from 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS confirmed that there was an active scene in Roseville.

Ramsey County officials shared information about the original Shelter-in-Place order on social media. Those along Larpenteur Avenue to Highway 36 and from Victoria Street to Snelling Avenue have been asked to take shelter amid the active situation.

An emergency call was sent to phones in the designated areas.

Several metro-area agencies — including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Mounds View, New Brighton, South St. Paul, West St. Paul and the White Bear Lake Police Department — said a warning was widely issued, despite the Scene contained is Rosenville.

The original emergency alert indicated the suspect was described as a 17-year-old male; Further information on the suspect has not yet been released.
