TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CEA Group (“CEA”) announced today that Sam Tabuchi, a renowned global economics expert and professor, has joined the Advisory Board of CEA as Senior Advisor – Japan.
Mr. Tabuchi is Professor Emeritus at Toyo University in Tokyo, Japan; Chair of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) PPP Working Group in Geneva; director of Asia PPP Instituteand consultant at Chodai Company.
Sam Tabuchi has lived in the United States and worked in the state of Florida for over 30 years. He worked at the Ministry of Economy as manager of the Asia section in promoting foreign direct investments from Japan and Asia. In the private sector, he promoted the development of the public transport system (high-speed rail). Death (transport-oriented development), developed in Japan, Florida and the USA. He served as a special assistant to the USTR office Loaned in 1980 to support US-Japan trade issues.
Mr. Tabuchi leads the promotion of regional economic development through public-private partnerships around the world UNECE PPP working group and Asia PPP Institute.
In 2018 he became Chair of the UN PPP Working Group (re-elected 2020) promoting People First PPP development around the world along the lines of the SDGs – UN Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030). Mr. Tabuchi works with other UN agencies such as UNHCR (UN Refugee Office) for their global fleet management programs in Africa.
Sam Tabuchi serves as Director of Asia PPP Institute (A3PI) was founded in 2011 by the co-chairs Dr. Mahathir (former Prime Minister of Malaysia) and Chancellor Shiokawa (former Minister of Finance of Japan) to support development in Asia through the use of PPP. A3PI has supported various economic development programs in Asia, including award-winning projects.
Mr. Tabuchi advises Chodai company on various projects including improvements in operational management of local governments in Japan through the programs sponsored by the Cabinet Office of Japan. He is also involved in the development of earthquake-resistant housing for low-income people in Indonesia and works with Japanese companies and government programs.
Sam Tabuchi completed his bachelor’s degree Rikkio University in Tokyo and a postgraduate in urban and regional planning from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.
