Geneva, Switzerland, November 14, 2022 – ST Microelectronics (NYSE: STM)a world-leading semiconductor company serving customers across the spectrum of electronic applications will be exhibiting and showcasing innovative technologies at Electronics 2022 (November 15-18) in Munich, Germany. ST’s focus is on four broad areas of great interest to customers: technologies for smarter mobility; for industrial IoT and factory automation; for energy management and energy efficiency; and for developing and securing AI-based networked systems. Over 35 demos will showcase technologies already in use with existing customer and partner systems and devices, as well as innovative next-generation solutions. In addition to the activities on the exhibition floor, ST will broadcast live from the event at electronica over three days.

Innovation for smarter mobility
ST develops auto electrification solutions to help automakers build electric vehicles with longer ranges and more affordable prices. It also creates advanced digitization systems to ensure new levels of performance and security. An EV muscle car will showcase the full suite of battery management system (BMS) technologies, as well as a BMS reference design to emphasize the easy integration of these high-performance capabilities into cost-effective systems. Multiple automotive power demos highlight ST’s expertise in fundamental energy-related technologies that enable electric vehicles to run more efficiently and further. Another demo shows how ST’s innovative intelligent fuses provide reliable and programmable protection.

ST will also showcase virtualization and its ability to isolate and run multiple applications on its next-gen Stellar SR6 MCUs for software-defined vehicles. Other demonstrations will include ST’s latest hybrid imaging technology for cabin surveillance, ideal for occupant monitoring and security systems.

At the Electronica conferences and forums, ST will make presentations on silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) for automotive power applications, as well as the challenges of securing software-defined vehicles.
Digital live event from ST am Smart mobility is scheduled for November 15 at 11 a.m. CET. Registration numberstar here.

Innovation for the Industrial IoT and factory automation
ST develops technologies that enable industrial applications to meet the challenges of digitization and secure connectivity. The company also offers industry-leading tools to support embedded application development using artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches. Building on its industry-leading STM32 microcontroller family and ecosystem, ST’s Industrial IoT & Factory Automation demos include a unique ST-developed industrial sensor evaluation kit for temperature and vibration-based condition monitoring. The kit includes an ultra-low power wireless radio and a secure element for embedded authentication and secure data management, and supports rapid machine learning development. To that end, it also houses ultra-low power and inertial modulus sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) that integrate ST’s machine learning core running on top of the sensors.

The ST booth will also showcase customer and partner systems and devices utilizing ST technology in industrial IoT with examples such as an asset tracker and connected cylinder, and in factory automation with an example of a digital twin of industrial equipment. Additionally, ST will be spotlighting its wireless STM32-based approach to the newly launched Matter home automation/connectivity standard.

At the Electronica conferences and forums, ST will give presentations on connectivity (sub-1 GHz, UWB, multi-protocol), security and low-power applications.

Enabling energy efficiency everywhere
From homes to cities, offices to industries, e-bikes to electric vehicles, ST offers energy management solutions that aim for sustainability. The company provides technologies, products and solutions that help customers achieve their most ambitious goals. Demonstrations at the ST booth will feature a range of customer products, demonstrating the many ways ST enables energy efficiency. For the house, this includes a photovoltaic inverter, a heat pump, a smart circuit breaker and a roller shutter; for the city, intelligent waste management and an electric jackhammer; and on the road, an electric motorcycle and an electric car and the Mobilize Powerbox®. This is a consumer EV charger and the result of a collaboration between ST and a number of partners.

Digital live event from ST am Energy, automation and industrial infrastructure is scheduled for November 16 at 11:00 CET and ST’s digital live event embedded AI, security and connectivity is on November 17th at 11 am CET. Registration numberstar here.
