Daytona Beach, FL (October 21, 2022) – Progressive American Flat Track is pleased to report record-breaking viewership for the 2022 season, with two more races still to be broadcast on Fox Sports.
The results demonstrate the immediate success of both the new multi-year agreement with Fox Sports, which includes Progressive AFT in highly desirable time slots as a key element of a powerful overall motorsport offering, and the much welcomed relaunch of FansChoice.tv.
While the epic Mission Volusia Half-Mile Finale doubleheader is still airing to further boost viewership, the 2022 season has already garnered the most television viewership of any year since the series was rebranded in 2017:
- According to Nielsen, the total television viewership for the 2022 season is currently 2,598,000. That number surpasses each of the previous two seasons by over 750,000 viewers, with two races still being broadcast.
- Hours televised have expanded exponentially, totaling 139 hours of linear coverage to date (51 hours on FS1 and 88 hours on FS2), compared to just 17 total hours in 2021.
- Total viewership, including both broadcast and digital viewership from FansChoice.tv, YouTube and Facebook, has reached 3,051,399 viewers and is on track to surpass the previous 2018 peak of hundreds of thousands of viewers.
That Mission Volusia Half Mile Final I will premiere on FS1 next Sunday, October 23 at 11:00am ET/8:00am PT. That Mission Volusia Half Mile Final II will air a week later on Sunday, October 30 at 10:30am ET/7:30pm PT on FS1.
