Elsewhere in the Pokemon world, thanks to even more leaks, we got our first glimpse of some starter developments while a Horizon MMO may be in development for PlayStation. Read on for all the details.
Scarlet & Violet’s final trailer reveals new Pokémon Great Tusk and Iron Treads
We’ll start with the Pokemon news, and this one is safe for everyone out there trying to avoid spoilers. We got the game’s final reveal trailer ahead of its launch next week, and it reveals two new Pokemon dubbed the Great Tusk and Iron Treads. These are clearly not the actual names of the Pokemon, and it’s likely Game Freak will reveal what they are in the coming days. However, Pokemon fans think they figured it out, as they believe both could be past and future evolutions for Donphan.
Sprigatito Evolution licks, leaves fans reeling
Now for less official Pokemon news, as developments for both Sprigatito and Fuecoco have been leaked online. I won’t describe or demonstrate them here in case you’re trying to avoid spoilers, but both designs definitely have fans talking – Sprigatito is more than Fuecoco. Let’s just say Game Freak did what we all expected and leave it at that. If you know, you know.
A Horizon MMO could be in the works
Aside from Pokemon, it has been reported that an MMO set in the same universe as Horizon Zero Dawn could be in the works by Guild Wars developer NCsoft. The report suggests that if the Horizon MMO is successful, NCsoft could be given the opportunity to develop more games based on existing PlayStation properties. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get into the crack MMO.
Blasphemous Dev reveals rejected 2D Dark Souls 3 game
If you’ve ever wondered what Dark Souls would look like as a 2D pixel art Metroidvania, then a certain developer who worked on Blasphemous has a gift for you. Thomas Feichtmeir announced on Twitter today that he has been working on some graphics for a 2D pixel art Metroidvania version of Dark Souls 3 presented to Bandai Namco. The pitch was sadly turned down, but Feichtmeir revealed a screenshot of how the game would have looked after the project’s 6-year NDA is over.
Fortnite Battle Pass Designer joins Naughty Dog to work on monetization
Finally, we may have a bit more information about the long-awaited multiplayer game Naughty’s Dog, which is likely to be a Live Service Factions title. Whatever it ends up being, we now know that it will likely include a Battle Pass, as former Epic Games veteran Anders Howard announced that he has joined Naughty Dog as lead designer for monetization. Howard has worked on Fortnite for Epic for over seven years and is responsible for the game’s Battle Pass.
