The North San Diego Business Chamber has announced the date of the first workshop for its new “Future” series, which will share information and resources with the business community across multiple platforms.
The first workshop will take place on November 8th, with a different workshop scheduled for each subsequent month.
Chamber officials said the new series will highlight technology and staffing solutions for small businesses.
“The pandemic has forced the business community to embrace technology at an extremely advanced pace and it has fundamentally changed the way we do business today,” said a press release issued by the chamber this week. “As we anticipate further changes, businesses must prepare for the uncertainties and opportunities that will come with the future of commerce, the workforce and daily life.”
“We are in the midst of important phases of upheaval in the workforce, of which we will probably experience more in the future,” says the chamber’s statement. “Finding and retaining talent are two major challenges for most organizations, especially small and medium-sized organizations and businesses.”
Beginning in November, the chamber and local leaders will gather for timely conversations about the future of work and digital technology. Topics include how businesses and leaders can respond to the innovation, agility and empathy needed to support a vibrant, diverse workforce, customers and communities – and strengthen the region’s competitive advantage in the global marketplace.
This six-part Future series focuses on solutions, resources, technology and creative ideas to support today’s challenges while also exploring technology and solutions to transition and plan for the future.
Topics covered in the chamber workshops include:
· Talent resources available to employers
· Start with a foundation: your talent
· Building a workplace of the future
Preparing for the 2030 customer experience
· Cost of goods and services in 2030
· What jobs will look like in 2030.
