Trump ‘angry’ at Oz loss in Pennsylvania, blames wife Melania for support: report

Former President Donald Trump was “furious” Wednesday at Republicans’ disappointing showing nationally, according to a report, specifically blaming people who advised him to hire Dr. Mehmet Oz in the running for Pennsylvania Senate endorsement, including former President’s wife Melania.

Oz lost to Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman in the state’s closely watched Senate contest, a crushing defeat for Republicans trying to regain a Senate majority. Fetterman’s victory allowed Democrats to take the seat of retired Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, known for her access to Trump and his orbit, tweeted Wednesday, “Trump is actually angry this morning, especially at Mehmet Oz, and blames everyone who advised him to go to Oz.” support — including his wife, who says it’s not her best decision, according to people close to him.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Melania Trump had expressed her support for Oz to her husband. Oz was hit frequently by Fetterman during the campaign because he was too wealthy and out of touch to interact with Pennsylvanians. Oz conceded the race on Wednesday morning.

Many conservatives are furious with Trump over the midterm results, which they saw as a missed opportunity for resounding pickups given President Biden’s low approval ratings and record inflation.
