Following earlier reports that WhatsApp is working on allowing users to set up avatar profile photos, the instant messaging service is reportedly now rolling out the avatar feature for some beta testers. The avatar feature allows users to create a digital version of themselves and set it up as a profile photo and possibly even use it during video calls.

The new feature was first reported by WABetaInfo and is said to be compatible with WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.23.8 and 2.22.23.9. After configuring your avatar, WhatsApp will create a new sticker pack that you can share with others on the platform. You can also choose an avatar as your profile photo on WhatsApp.

If you are using WhatsApp Beta and have updated to either compatible version, you may have access to the avatar features. To find out, go to your WhatsApp settings and see if you can find a new section called “Avatar”. If you have the section, it means the feature has rolled out on your device and you can start creating your avatar.

Of course, just because this feature is compatible with WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.23.8 and 2.22.23.9 doesn’t mean that everyone will get the feature by updating to these versions. So don’t worry if you don’t have access to it yet. More users could configure an avatar in the next few weeks. Just make sure you’re using the latest version of WhatsApp in the meantime.
